Csatlós György aka George – Guitar

One who has never been interested in the current trends of music, George picked up the guitar at the age of 12 influenced by the classic rock’n’roll performers from the fifties and sixties. It all changed a few months down the line, when he was introduced to the heavier side of music and the clean, crisp chords he was trying to master soon became vicious sounding Rock riffs.

He was heavily influenced in his teens by the big American rock and grunge bands such as Metallica and Alice in Chains, as well as the European goth rock/metal scene pioneered by Paradise Lost. Even though he has adapted to various different styles since then, that era shaped the way he plays the guitar and his life!

Despite never being keen on school he reluctantly yielded to family pressure and had a go at university. After a couple of years it became obvious that this was not to be his career path and he moved to London from Hungary aged 20 to pursue his dream of becoming an acknowledged musician.

Lending his rich sound, pumping riffage and dark melancholic melodies to several up and coming outfits in London, the two most significant being Mindcrow, in which he played for two years and hard-working band, Ever Rest.
Mindcrow was a hip, rhythmic rock formation with dark undertones. They played in prestigious London venues, had interviews, their tunes were played on TotalRock Radio, and they received a positive review in Rock Sound magazine.
Ever Rest was a full on rock band with big hair, big vocals, big sound and big riffs. They played at the Carling Academy in Islington supporting Pitch Shifter and were featured on a couple of compilation cds for fanzines such as Bubblegum Stuts and another in the states.

His first encounter with Lilygun was in October 2008. He clicked with them immediately. It felt natural for him to play with the band even in the first couple of rehearsals and he perfectly complements Lilygun’s unique sound adding his special blend of fine finger work.
